# Temp-to-perm positions are worth it

Sometimes, if a temporary worker is performing at a better-than-satisfactory level, the employee may find him or herself with a full-time position after the temping period ends.

According to the American Staffing Association, 74 percent of job hunters seek full-time employment by temping first, Florida Today reports. Furthermore, a recent CareerBuilder report revaled that around 72 percent of [temporary workers](http://innovativeemployeesolutions.com/wp/temporary-workers/) found permanent positions with the employers for whom they temped.

For example, the York Daily Record reports that UPS recently hired 55,000 temporary workers nationwide with plans to keep on many full-time.

"We're evaluating to see if you have what it takes in terms of a good attitude," UPS spokeswoman Elizabeth Rasberry told the news source. "You're seeing up close and in person what the job is like - what the company is like. If you're going into a new job, you usually don't know how it is until you get there."

Florida Today adds that beyond the allure of a full-time position, temp work also provides training, experience and new skills for a worker whose previous attributes may have come from an industry that's no longer relevant or in demand.
